Only if you try to run the application through all 3 monitors with an ultrawide resolution. Whatever you runs in the background takes up little extra resources normally.

Well of course; anytime you add a display to the mix it will affect performance to some degree.
If you're doing NVIDIA Surround (using all 3 Displays in-game) then of course you will need a very good GPU to drive that high resolution since it's drawing pixels, rendering the game across all 3 Displays.

What's the rest of your specs???

uh I only want to play on one monitor, I just want the others for reading chat and watching youtube while I wait for matches to start
I have a pretty bad cpu, an AMD fx-6300 and a GTX 770

You may wanna cut it down to 2 then.

Nothing wrong with your cpu, it can easily handle that. Not so sure about the nvidia gpu though. With an AMD gpu, having 3 extended monitors active isn't really noticeable. It's what and how many apps you have open on them that counts.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. For reading chats and watching yt while playing on the primary Monitor it is totally fine...

If you only game on one it won't have any noticeable effect on your performance, that is unless you have 90 chrome tabs open eating all your memory, but, that would be an issue with one monitor in the background as well anyway hehe.

Really depends on how you use the monitors. Running the game on one monitor and running say... text chat or Discord on the other won't reduce your performance at all. But stretching the game across both using an extremely wide resoluti\on will hurt your FPS. It would be 100% doable, but you'd need a beefy GPU.
