Thank you! This is good information.
Just for fun so far I've managed to overclock the core by extra +160Mhz and memory by +275MHz to stable without increasing voltage. I've seen others on the internet reporting +200 core/+600 mem overclock.
I got an Asus RX 550 4GB too. I'll try SWBF on that too and compare.
So id say go with zotac and remember to register the card.
All are good brands.
Some advice for reals though, don't get a fan model if you are running a HTPC, just dont do it.
Always go a solid heatsink if space permits.
1. Fans make sound, the whole point of HTPC is not to see/hear it.
2. Fans are moving parts which WILL fail.
BTW the GT1030 is a sweet little card tbh. Its very frugal on power but runs cook serve delicious 2! very well.
If a small PSU is the main limitation, a Ti version is always to be avoided.
The fan isn't very loud, I really can't hear it from where I sit at all so that's a plus, WoWships, WoT , Warthunder, CS, Overwatch, FFXIV all run very good. Doom ran poorly (25fps 900p/low) on the 640 but runs quite playable on this which is a nice surprise
I'm not going to overclock it on this system because I'm worried about the power supply, it's very low power and it's an odd proprietary form factor which seems expensive to replace (it's already 7+ years old, this system started as an Intel Atom 330, lol)
I bought it at a brick and mortar store locally since shipping anything from online here is very expensive, it was only a little bit more expensive then the equivilent amazon price before shipping though so I got an alright deal.
1050 card is £140 and can easily run csgo.
Congrats, I would love to see a before and after 3dmark score if you have them :)
I have an i7 4790k with a GTX 960 and pull 6800, so you are doing ok. :)
6800 seems to low for a 960, my old 980, pulled nearly 13k not overclocked (20638 overclocked with both cards), I know the 980 is alot more powerful but it shouldn't be that much ahead, is your CPU running at stock?
It seems about right. From what I have seen 13k is about average for a 980.
And yes, sadly, around 6500-7500 seems to be about average for a good clocked 960. Pure stock 960's even lower.
As to personal speeds, my GPU is stock overclocked to 1342 boos and wont go much more beynod that stable. 960's refferance at like 1,100 boost so its a decent stock OC and has obviously put the gpu at the near critical point already, albeit without any increased thermals or voltage, just better binning :)
For CPU my i7 has hit 5Ghz and will pull 4.8Ghz stable in 24/7 usage. The bench I have I ran at 4.7Ghz. More often than not though I undervolt and underclock it to save power. It can run at stock 4.0Ghz without turbo boost and run full load @ 1.0v vcore. Sips power and performs great. I have yet to find many games that actualy tax it enough for me to want to reboot and through my BIOS profile for 4.8 into play.
Though, that doesnt stop me from my quest for better performance, love having it when I need it. Currently working on a profile to allow 4.8 on 4 cores, with turbo boost enable to jump for 4.9 on 3 cores and 5.0 on 2/1 cores. Main issue with 5.0 on a long term scale is cooling and I think this would allow me to pull closer to 5.0 on single threaded apps. Justy cant get the turbo to play nice.
:D
my ~6.8k score (7.7k graphics marks)

wow such an in depth benchmark, if you want an actual benchmark i recommend UsereBenchmark. they have in depth tests on different aspects of the video cards prepossessing capability that have been averaged from multiple tests on different hardware configurations, and they have a video card comparison feature. as for the wattage and the size of the video cards, just google it. i've spent a week trying to find out what the best budget video card to buy is. and prices right now are sketchy since we are in the GPU-Pocalypse and prices are fluctuating right now. they also have a PC build planner, but if you want to build a computer your self i recommend using part picker they have price listings and can help you get the right compatible parts. just duble check your part compatibility before you buy. and make sure budget CPUs can run newer games before you buy.
And thats exactly why it is not always used as a reference
USERbenchmark
Being as its USER created information with tons of different configs, running processes etc, professional reviews are sometimes better.
