Is it ok to mix RAM?
I built my computer with one stick of G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory. I think that I need to upgrade to 16 gigs by adding one more 8 gig stick, however the price of the ram went up, and is now $60. I just want to know, is it ok to mix my ram with a different stick? Here's one that I might use, just as an example: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Thanks!
UPDATE: Thanks everybody. Now that i'm looking, there isn't really that big a change in price bewteen RAM, so I might just bite the bullet and buy it. I'm looking for more RAM because a lot of my games that shouldn't be very laggy are. I looked in task manager to see if it was my memory, and sure enough it was. My games are using a crazy amount of memory. I honestly think that my memory is the only thing really holding me back from having a smooth gaming experience.
Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel - Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock - Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($56.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate - 1TB 2.5" 5400RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive
Case: Silverstone - RVZ02B HTPC Case
Power Supply: Silverstone - 450W 80+ Bronze Certified SFX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
Other: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Video Card
Other: Acer G257HU smidpx 25-Inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) Widescreen Monitor
Can I get some opinions on if my theory about my memory holding me back? Thanks!

If the latency and timings are the same, then it should be fine. Be 100% sure to triplecheck that.

I dont think it will change so much

Its always best to get the same RAM. If you get different RAM there is always the possibility of your system becoming unstable but that is quite rare. You might want to just spend a little more and get the same RAM so you can make use of dual channel and avoid any possible stability issues.

Never use different sticks.

yes its ok to use different ram, only difference is that it will downclock to the lowest hertz but you can reclock it back up and get uncommon gbs of ram

This.

Keep in mind if those two factors are different they will automatically clock to the highest common level

AND Voltage

Honestly it's not worth mixing ram just to save a couple of bucks. I have tried mixing RAM before with the same voltage, timings, and latency, and had no luck getting the system to post with it. Not sure why, maybe it's the difference between the PCB but I think you should just spend that extra bucks to get another stick of memory that is guaranteed to work.
