How to set up extra mouse buttons?
I have a CyberpowerPC gaming optical mouse, and it has 6 extra buttons on it. 4 and 5 (the ones on the side) work for going forward or backward in a browser, but do not register in any games or software. The rest of the buttons do not register in anything, including browsers.

How do you set up these buttons so I can use them in games?

Just go in to the game settings and change the key bindings.

They don't register when I do. I press 'add', and then click the mouse button but get no response.

Its probably because it is a $4 mouse. You get what you pay for.

Does the mouse come with its own software? If not it's just trash.

If I remember correctly those are cheap Gamdias mice.

Download X-Mouse
Allows you custom bind ANY mouse.

I know this is late, but those two buttons serve as a “very fast left click” and a “halve your dpi while you hold it.”

Thanks! It's been bugging me for ages why I couldn't bind those buttons! I'm glad to know that they have functions at least.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
