As long as the motherboard you get is decent and supports SLI
That i7 is a bit better than that age old crappy FX and should offer less of a bottleneck with the 1070s.
and it may be old tech, but not as old as that FX :) or at least not as crappy
Swapping for it prob be a good deal. Not sure how much increase ull get though.
The i7 3820 is also a 4x2 with scores of 19 and 90.
So there might be a small gain in fps due to the better single thread score..
Would it be worth it? This depends on other factors such as the fps you are getting now, your monitor specs, cost of the upgrade etc. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Unless you need both 1070's as you are playing 1440p or above that is but sli can be very hit and miss for a lot of games so it may not be worth keeping.
