No, simply too inexperienced with display technology to know how much of a RIP-off that VA panels are. They are the worst panels on the market for a lot of games, simple fact.
I didn't know, bought it, used it for so long, and learned from my mistake. So did Grimy_Rick.
VA should be avoided regardless, I don't care about one monitor's reviews made by a majority of people that don't know much and by a website that is just a source of opinion. VA is objectively the worst, not worth it.
Ok so your advice is ignore the opinions of people using the monitor after spending £400 saying it’s good because they don’t know much about technology and also a reputable website saying it’s good for gaming.
Because you say VA is the worst
I use a va monitor and I find it better. I prefer the better colours, contrast etc and I’m happy with 4ms
Because I can’t tel the difference between my 1ms monitor and my 4ms one. It’s all just an advertisement gimmick so people on hardware forums can measure who’s got the biggest lol
Anyway good choice on the monitor op
I think you are referring to the first-gen 1800R panels, they were 8ms - I also avoided those. The newer 1500R models that followed were much improved, just about matching IPS:

IMO the MBR function is also a must, without that it can get quite nauseating. Had mine for almost a year now, VA does very well in low-light space and stealth games, where the high contrast ratio shines - and where IPS backlight bleed becomes very pronounced.
I use TN and VA, it's definitely not worth the color. It really isn't that impressive, and the ghosting is a deal breaker.
My VA panel was about 500$ CDN, not including sales tax. Around the same price as my TN which offers 240Hz instead of 144Hz, actually much better response time, and the same typical features of an ASUS monitor.
And again, you're naively going by response times in gtg and not focusing on the ACTUAL response time of the panel. Most VA panels are 8ms or higher at least.
So ghosting is going to be bad.
That's just built in motion blur.
