You can pick up a i7 3770 from eBay.
Ok thanks guys I was just looking for price and not really sure what could fit, I assumed I'd have to use intel but I was hoping I wouldn't just because of how much it is
Buy those CPUs used they have gotten quite affordable.
And AMD FX is cheap but obsolite, very weak and complete crap. Never buy FX.
There are cheaper faster CPUs on the market now.
Searched: i7 3770 lowest price and shipping.

OK. Your current cpu has a good single-thread score already, so upgrading it wouldn't necessarily improve performance of many games. But with GTAV, going to an i7 should boost performance. The catch is that the 750ti is going to limit the framerate.. But at least if you buy an i7-3770 you'll have a very good cpu.
If you get a i7 3770, you can pair it with any of video cards you want, which is up to you on what GPU you want.
Looking at that ^ your i3 will still choke up a gtx1050ti (GTX960 is same performance in GTA 5).
A used i7 3770 and GTX1050ti would be more ideal for GTA 5.
Doesn't really matter, does the game run smooth and CPU/GPU staying cool at all times; That's all that matters.
The reason for such high loads is cause you're on a Dual Core CPU and your GPU is just utterly terrible for anything to run right in 1080p; you also lack RAM.
To find socket compatibility, read the specs of the CPU and look for LGA (Intel), and AM(# and a + or something else)
