Monitor not recognizing GPU Input
Okay, so I have a Dell IN2020M Monitor 1600x900, 60Hz.

ASUS Motherboard
GE Force 1060 3GB
Intel(R) Core i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz

Windows 10 OS

Ever since I updated my GE Force graphics driver yesterday this old issue has cropped up. I plug my monitor into the GPU port, the input would not be recognized. Can't access the NVIDIA control panel to sort out, and messing with the BIOS hasn't helped a great deal either. I have a DVI cable into the GPU port which is the only one it will accept, and right now I have a VGA cable running on this same monitor into the motherboard VGA cable slot.

This all worked before just fine as, long as I didn't really shutdown/restart the computer and put it to sleep a lot. The monitor would work well into the GPU and I could game with no issues. Now I really can't and I'm at my wit's end as a complete amateur trying to figure this out.

The issues immediately appear after updating drivers??
If yes: Boot in to safe mode and remove the drivers.

If no:
- Try the PC on another monitor/TV with another cable.
- Remove the GPU and try booting with the Intel HD.

I tried dragging my t.v. over with a DVI/HDMI adapter cable hooked up to the tower and the t.v. It wouldn't take the input either.

Load up via the Intel GPU, download DDU app
Select Safe Mode > Restart
Once DDU loads up go to Options, select option to Delete/Wipe all Monitors.
Now click each of the 3 GPU brands and "clean but do not restart"
Once all that is cleared out, click Shutdown.
Disconnect any connections from Intel GPU (Motherboard) for any Displays
Connect to the NVIDIA GPU (DVI-D, HDMI, DP) no adapters.

Now try booting up.
Once in Windows Desktop, download the latest of the following and install one by one.
Intel Chipset INF[downloadcenter.intel.com]
Intel HD Graphics 630[downloadcenter.intel.com]
NVIDIA Desktop Geforce series[www.nvidia.com]

For NVIDIA, do custom and only install Forceware and PhysX

Well Bad_Motha I am an amateur at all this though I did manage to update the Intel Graphics driver just now, of course it didn't do anything. Your instructions are a bit complicated for my beginners knowledge of this stuff but I'll try to carry it all out to the letter.

Try another cable

Okay, progress update. Managed to boot up from the GPU so now I'm going to reinstall those drivers on the list one by one.

How did you manage to boot?

Cleared the display drivers cleanly like Bad_Mother recommended. As for how, I dunno. Dark sorcery at this point. Hit a snag with the Intel Graphics HD for some reason and I got the Intel Driver Update Utility installed anyway

My resolution is effed but I'm assuming I can fix that when I'm done.

Also tried to download the NVIDIA drivers and my computer went black, then it came back on after I thought the input issue happened again.

My computer notified me some driver updates need to go through and I'm going to restart now.

resoloution will return when nvidia is done

question, did you oc your monitor before this happened?

Not sure what you mean by oc for the monitor.

Okay, going to restart, hope this works...

Well, I'm disappointed and back at square one because once again, monitor refuses to acknowledge the GPU port's existence.

Are you using Intel GPU at the same time?

I had it disconnected when I rebooted and reinstalled stuff, but upon rebooting, input wasn't recognized so I was forced to plug the VGA cable back in.
