"MSVCP100.dll was not found" preventing games from launching???
Hi there, so this message has been popping up when I turn on my laptop "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.". Google told me it has to do with the Microsoft Visual C++, I tried reinstalling it (2015 version), nope. I recently installed the 2017 version, still nope. I also tried running the "sfc /scannow" in the cmd, nope again.

My laptop's specs are:
ASUS ROG GL552VW-DH71
Windows 10
Intel 6th Generation Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz)
16 GB Memory
1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
2 GB GDDR5

I think this is preventing me to launch some games in steam, I don't recalling it happening before the message popped up. I can play Shadow of Mordor, Team Fortress 2, Rocket League, Just Cause 3, Witcher 3, all kinds of game. But then there are some games like Far Cry 3, I just bought Metal Slug X, I launch the game, I see the message "Preparing to launch....." pops up, annnnnnd nothing. NOTHING! I see the frame of my steam profile turns from blue to green, then turns back to blue with a split second. I have multiple friends who have the same laptop and their laptops are all good.

It's in the middle of the steam sales and I'm afraid to buy games because I don't know if it'll even launch at all. Yes I can just refund it but like I WANT TO PLAY!!!

Windows doesn't come with Visual C++ Runtimes, you need to install all of these yourself.
2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015; and both x86 and x64 versions of each; and yes, you will need ALL of these. Some apps need to utilize a certain version.

No need to guess which version you need, each game tells you, go to the game folder and install them from there; they come with games that use those. After installing them, restart Windows and do "Check for Updates" via Windows Updates.
