Possible to change the Processor of a Prebuilt PC Motherboard?
I have A Dell 660s with a Dell Pievalley DIB75R Motherboard that has a i3 3240 CPU (LGA 1155 Socket). I did Upgrade my RAM to 8GB DDR3, Changed my PSU to a Cooler Master 450W PSU, and also changed the case to support my GPU (ZOTAC GTX 1050ti 4GB), Everything was fine until i noticed heavy FPS drops in GTA V (gets down to 30-40 FPS in city areas). So if i buy a new better LGA 1155 CPU would it support my prebuilt PC's mobo?

If you can remove the CPU then you usally can put in any CPU that corresponds to your socket

To be sure wait for others to respond.
Well if the framerate suddenly dropped first try rebooting. If that doesn't help install and use CCleaner (free version). This clears cache, history, and other unwanted crap slowing your PC. As for the RAM, try getting DDR4 memory next time. Gonna wait for others to give advice on your CPU and motherboard.

He can't get DDR4 on an LG 1155 CPU, as it didn't even exist at the time.

CPU and GPU aren't enough for GTAV; you'll need to lower your Visual Settings in the Game, disable all forms of AA except FXAA

Put Peds/Traffic Density to around 50%

Which is why I expect people like you with more knowledge to give better advice.

Lowest Settings and still lags, im pretty sure the CPU is responsible for FPS drops.

I've even did a Windows 10 Clean Install, still no use.

Well I know we can use any Processor to a mobo that has the same socket but since I have a motherboard from a prebuilt PC I have no idea will the BIOS and the board will identify and detect a foreign CPU..

Dell Inspiron 660s yes?

If so, going by this say that it can go upto only i5 3rd gen only, but I wouldn't know if it supports the K version, or not, of the i5 3rd gen.

You could try going for i5 3570, or i5 3550, which you can find them on Ebay.
Or and this is complately up to you, sell off the CPU, motherboard, and RAM, and get a i5 7500 CPU, B250 motherboard, and DDR4.
