ASUS ROG 30FPS LOCKED WHILE ON BATTERY??

i have an ASUS ROG GL553VD and the fps locked in 30fps while on battery mode :/ weird.. any possible idea how to fix it?

Plug in the power suply. It's meant to cut the performance when it's not plugged in to mains power.

is there no other way to unlock the fps while in battery mode? this laptop doesn't have removable battery so it's not meant to be always plugged in :/

It's fine to have it plugged in, and afaik, no there isn't. It's just how laptops work. You can check the power options and make sure you're on high performance mode. It may help.
If you're using nVidia do this; right click on your desktop - go to nvidia graphicscard settings - go to options - and set power management to maximum.

But again, it's fine to have it plugged in at the same time :D

doesn't having it plugged in all time makes the battery getting less productive?

There should be a high performance mode or something you can switch back to even without a direct AC supply. Although intense gaming will mean the battery being drained within a couple of hours.

Gaming will kill your battery just as quick as having it plugged in. When the power is plugged in, the battery will only ever be trickle charged, if it's charged at all, this helps protect the battery life anyway.

Laptops don't work that way, it actually cuts charging altogether, to save from damaging the battery.

i honestly don't know what's the Volts & MAH on the battery because i've never rip my laptop open.. as i said earlier the battery is already planted inside and unremovable..

but all that the AC adapter say is..
100 - 240V
19V = 6.32A

dunno if that helps or not :/

I did say "if it's been charged at all". The laptops I have here, three don't charge when the PSU is plugged in, and one does. The one that does was released last year. Some do and some don't :)

Open nvidia experiance thing and raise the limit on the battery booste thing. You still wont get plugged in performance (no way a battery can output enough power$ and ur battery life will decrease.

If you open the Nvidia panel (where you'll find the option to optimize your games and use shadow play) there will be an option to increase the fps on battery.

I get the same thing with my ROG G14 in 2021. Its a pretty good laptop but you need to keep it plugged in if you want to game in over 30 FPS. Even on better performance power mode the battery runs out VERY quick and games will still play at only 30 FPS. Still, its a very light notebook with an RTX card and an 8 core processor, so I understand.

Thats always going to be a given with most laptops as their battery can't output the full wattage to the CPU/GPU like the Power Brick can.
