Did I get ripped off and how should I upgrade?
Hi! When I was like 8, a sketch computer guy sold my mom a Cybertron Borg Q for $500.
The specs are:
Processor AMD FX(tm)-4130 Quad-Core Processor
RAM 8.0 GB
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
Did I Get Ripped Off? I started to realize, as I got older that minecraft is not supposed to run at 40 fps with all low settings and Optifine Mod to make it run quicker.
Also, What would be a good graphics card replacement? I am only interested in upgrading the graphics card because I am low on money at the moment and only really want a computer to run video editing and Cemu Wii U Emulator and Citra 3ds Emulator. I have about $100 at most.
Please Save Me From 40 Fps! Thanks In Advance!

Surely no sense in upgrading that system. At least the GPU could be carried over to another system in the future. Once the OP has a better GPU, everything should be fine for what wants to do. Then after that, save up towards doing a brand new build, around Intel LGA-1151 or AMD AM4; then put the GPU into that system.
So are you suggesting getting the GTX 1050? I don't mind it not getting the most out of it but i just want it to work even if I have to scale down graphics.

Yes it will work, but keep in mind you will want to upgrade your CPU + motherboard + RAM, later on.

There is no effects, you just don't make full use of the 1050, that's all.

So to recap for myself: Get GTX 1050. Should Work Fine On Games I want to Play On Low Settings. Think About Upgrading Down the line. Thanks For Your Help!

Sorry, but your rig cnnot really be upgraded. You need completely new one.

Cybertron? Sounds like a pre-buitl..
The parts are rly low-end and the gt 610 isn't rly a gpu for gaming.
A gtx 1050 ti will give a small performance boost, but that's all.
You could buy a fx-8350 or so, but that's a waste, I would save for a complet new rig.

Also try to figure out what psu is inside. Most low-budget pre-builts have a cheap office psu or so inside.

Cybertron PC. They're indeed a pre-builder, of the kind that gives prebuilds a bad name.

Just get a gtx1050 / gtx1050ti. While it may get bottlenecked slightly by the FX 4130, it will still be a massive improvement. GT610 is literally worse than integrated graphics and is massively bottlenecking even the :poop: FX 4130.

Trust me, i have a gt610, i know how :poop: it is.

It all depends when you guys bought it. FX wasnt a that bad CPU 4-5 years ago, but that GPU well, its crappy. For modern gaming though the whole machine is unefficent. First I would get the mentioned 1050 Ti, then eventually switch the whole PC. (things like case or HDD can be keeped)

In our local shop the FX CPUs are now selling like hot cakes since AMD now sells them out for coffee money prices, but guess in your case it costed more.

He cannot afford a new pc. But a new gpu would be a start. It could be reused later when he can afford to replace the rest of his pc.

Sure it's easy for you all to say 'just get a new pc' but you dont understand that some ppl just cannot afford it.

I know that. Which is why I said to ask his mom for a new one. Let's take a guess that computer is 5 years old, and he was 8 when it was bought. That brings him to 13. Hes got some time at home yet.

It's almost pointless him trying to upgrade it, he'll barely get anywhere.

I thought that was what's gonna happen when I was looking to upgrade my computer however I got lucky and it wasn't the case. Unfortunately for OP it looks like it would be the case for him.
