How long can i play a game for on my computer until it overheats?

liquid cooled cpu

How long can i play / have games open before my computer overheats?

I play for long periods of time so i wanted to know when I should shut off my computer.

Forever.

You don't have to worry about computer temps the computer will not get increasingly hotter during long gaming sessions. The temp will go up and down depending on the load the hardware is under, it takes seconds for the hardware to cool back down to idle temps.

If the PC does overheat it will protect itself by thermal throttling and in a worst case scenario it will shut itself down.

This question is a little strange. As long as your PC is adequately cooled, you can play for as long as you like without worry of your PC overheating. Just watch the temps every now and then.

Either it will or it will not overheat. I highly doubt you PC will overheat.

A PC will not run increasingly hotter the longer it runs..

But just now ive been playing for 6 hours straight and my computer got really really hot, so i got scared and shut it down. Is that normal?
