Arctis 5 headset microphone not working
I recently purchased an arctis 5 headset for my pc. i followed the instructions exactly. the microphone lights up when muted and not muted. my audio default is "headphones (steelseries arctis 5)" my default microphone is "SteelSeries Arctis 5 Chat" my computer runs windows 10. I beleive it is a problem withthe microphone input.

And you connected the entire setup via USB correct?
Not using the included usb to 4-pole adapter, which is for Mobile devices or other devices that use single 4-pole jack (Audio In & Out from single jack)

Firstly; set the large volume knob (Game vs Chat) in the middle.
On the Headset itself, turn this volume knob to the max and ensure the Mic is not muted.

Then take a look at how everything is configured within the SteelSeries audio app itself.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue. I've tried a few things from the internet but currently have a ticket open with SteelSeries.

A recent Windows Update (April 2018?) "disabled" my Arctis 5, turns out it was a privacy setting: https://win10faq.com/fix-microphone-settings/ ...Hope this helps.

If you uninstall the headset in Device Manager, unplug the Headset, and then plug it back in it should work. Works for me and helped for one of my friend

Nothing is fixing my issue either - opened a ticket with Steelseries and will hurry up and wait as the saying goes

I've just fixed mine by changing the driver from intel to realtek. i did this by going to:
> sound settings
> sound control panel
> recording tab
> microphone properties
> change settings
> driver tab
> update driver
> browse my computer
> let me pick...
> untick show compatible hardware
> realtek
> then the most recent one
When i did this i got a blue screen which worried me, then when it started back up my mic was finally working, i'm so happy :)
