how to blow dust out of my computer without hurting anything?
i know its short burts of compressed air. the first thing i wanna blow off is the side glass panel that is easy to clean but, im really afraid to blow compressed air inside of my pc case where all the delicate hardware is. what should and shoudnt i spray with compressed air? not even sure if your supposed to spray air in there.

The PC will be fine it's not made out of glass.. You don't have to go easy on it when cleaning it with compressed air.

A de ionizing air compressor or canned air is recommended.

You should clean it about as often as you clean the insides of your tv.

That is bull. Clean it at least once every 6 months, and once every month or two if you have a lot of fans.

You don't have to be gentle.. the PC will be fine, its not fragile.. Cleaning the PC with compressed air is completely safe no need to be carefull.

Give it a good clean no need for soft, carefull, short burst. Just go full hurricane on the PC until no more dust comes out.

It's completely safe to blow straight on the hardware, you are WAYYY more carefull with you PC then you have to be.

So you're suggesting "never" ?

No, TVs and Monitors are sealed devices with venting. They don't have fans or circulate active cooling through them. Anything with active cooling like PCs, needs to be cleaned out on a regular basis to prevent too much dust build up and help keep and promote good overall airflow. In the end your PC will run cool and most likely prolong the life of the hardware, fans, power supply, etc.

Would you run a box fan or ceiling fan for the life of the device without ever cleaning it?

Would u run your home AC (H-VAC) system for the life of the system or outside unit without cleaning it?

No; they would easily gunk up and fail, could even be a fire hazard...

You need to clean it as needed, search on youtube and you'll get an idea how.

Basically blow with compressed air, i like sucking it up with a vacuum as well. If you have filters on the case like i do, its easy to use a can of air or vacuum and clean weekly.

Clean weekly? How dusty is your living space?

I've lived many place, lucky if ever had to touch the inside of PCs before 3 - 6 months.

Compressed Air is a waste of $ and Vacuums shouldn't be used near your PC; least not inside.

In a pinch, sure compressed air is fine, just don't tilt the can. And do short-burst the entire time. Holding it down will make it freeze and loose pressure very quickly.

Cheaper to buy an electric air blower that will last you years and save on ever really needing canned air again. For all the work I've been able to do with a $30 blower; you'd probably have to be a millionaire to afford that much canned air.

I just vacuum my filters weekly, usually only take the panel off and clean every 6months or so. Deep cleaning it i just take it out to my shop and use the air compressor, lot faster and dont have to worry about dust getting errywhere in the house.

My dog sheds alot, thats why i have to clean so much, plus it takes like 5 seconds.

Ok yea makes sense; keeping up with vacuuming the filters. Especially with hairy pets in the same living space...

Air compressors though, folks must be careful, too high of a PSI and you can break hardware, like fan fins just snapping right off, etc....

Who cleans the insides of their TV? Is this best troll post you can come up with? Give me a break!

In my experience more hardware is broken due to cleaning, then has ever died from dust build-up.

Keep an eye on the temperatures, if they get bad, clean. Else, leave the damn thing alone.

It's the exact opposite in my experience. Never had any hardware die due to cleaning, I clean lots of PCs I always clean them before I start swapping components/ diagnosing a hardware issue. Almost always when I see a dead PSU it is filled with dust. Also seen GPUs die a couple of times due to overheating because they where filled with dust, how do I know it was overheating?? The GPU had burn marks on it PCB truned black.

My comments are with the general audience here in mind, first timers, amateurs and hobbyists. I've seen plenty of threads here with people asking for help after they broke something cleaning. You're the first to mention a broken part due to dust.

Generally, the average house is not that dusty, and the parts replaced before it becomes an issue while incompetence is far more common.

If you break your pc by dusting it, you're a very special person. like unles you shake a can of air or try to clean it while it's on or something, it's rather hard to break anything. Your pc is not a fragile piece of china.
