5700 and 5700 XT are way better.
When it was at its best, depending on driver version and game of course, Vega 64 was in between a gtx 1080 and 1080 Ti
5700 XT however can squeeze in between a 2070 Super and 2080 Super
I wouldn't bother with a regular 5700.
Yes you could flash a 5700 with a bios firmware from a 5700 XT but this can cause all sorts of issues too.
ignore everyone trying to compare pc and console specs they do not work the same way
as for comparing core freq, ram bandwidth/freq
there are many other factors that can change how they compare
best to compare their overall performance instead of looking at specific parts
This is why you need to do your own research and understand just where each gpu fits in when most game performance is concerned. Who cares who said that and why. It's am Xbox, your PC will never ever no matter what you do, be like an Xbox or PS. So just stop.
Even a 1080 Ti stomps on a Vega64
In a lot of loads, the Vega 64 can use closer to 90~100 watts more than the 5700 XT, but performance metrics are pretty much the same. The Vega 56, however, uses around 40~50 watts more than the 5700 on average under load.
Aside from power usage, Navi is a bit cheaper to produce because it isn't using more expensive HBM2 memory. The consequence is that Navi isn't as good as Vega for more workstation oriented loads, as its focus is on gaming rather than an all-rounder type deal that what Vega ended up as.
In compute loads and render applications the Vega will trash the navi cards.
In power consumption under either case the Navi cards pwn Vega, which when let lose and under stock video bios limits can easilly pull 330w sustained, and has been known to have transient load spike of sub second length that can be in excess of 1kw. Was a common issue to trip OCP on 800-1000w PSU;s for awhile after the vega launch as some older units didnt have tolerance for the spikes vega could produce in power usage.
I love my Vega, but its the only GPU I have that has a PSU that will likely follow it from machine to machine, as nothing else needs a 1kw PSU, but vega, yeh... It kinda actually does...
