Windows 10 compatibility
A friend of mine who is still on Windows 7 wants to upgrade to Windows 10. But he has Intel core i5 2nd gen. Will he be able to upgrade to Windows 10?

Really? Intel said windows 10 is compatible on starting with 3rd gen only

Going by Intels site no it doesn't support Windows 10

Bottom of table is 2nd and that clearly shows it not supporting it

*2 Intel Atom® Processors (code name Bay Trail) are supported for Windows® 10, 32-bit platform with the existing drivers that were delivered for Windows* 8.1. We plan to certify Windows* 8.1 drivers for the Windows® 10, 64-bit platform only.

basically you need to use the 8.1 drivers, or if the mobo/oem has drivers for 8.1/10 get them

but its best to avoid windows update for getting any drivers at all

What if there's no drivers?
Will the pc still boot to Windows 10?

Edit: also what if someone who is currently running on Windows 10 on a compatible CPU and decides to use Intel 2nd gen? Like for example someone currently using AMD A10 7xxx and decides to switch to Intel 2nd gen. What will happen to that pc?

Any issues?

I have a second gen mobile i3 or i5 and no issues running windows 10.
Just make sure there are Windows 10 drivers for your hardware.
I even run Win10 on an AMD Phenom II X4 945 from 2009.
Runs great, even better than Windows 7.

Don't have 2004 yet though, i'll wait until it matured a bit. MS doesn't have the best track record regarding feature updates, or patches in general at the moment.

Steam is a Store. It sells games made by other companies. It has no authority to modify games they do not own.

I have Windows 10 on two i7 950 PCs (gen 1). Works fine though I had to manually install the USB drivers.

Why though? Generally even old as fornication games run on Windows 10.
I was able to run Star Wars: Rogue Squadron from 1997 on Windows 10.
