An FPS drop with a laptop is normal because the components will prioritize power saving rather than delivering full wattage.
Yet another reason nobody needs a "high performance" laptop (which is a huge oxymoron really). Desktop PCs are the way to go. Your next laptop should just be a web browser while you invest the rest of your budget into a full size tower.
But as stated, laptops are not designed to efficiently run full power while on battery so its natural for performance to be hindered some.
