TV for TV stuff now? or HDMI Monitor?
What do you think ? I still want a "TV" for TV stuff or HDMI Monitor for better picture?

I was looking to get one for the bedroom, something ya know like a Roku would connect to is all. Maybe a cable or DISHNetwork box.

TV works fine for everything if you don't mind the extra headaches of high dpi scaling and overscan settings and stuff.

Ideally with Radeon graphics and displayport so you can totally disable HDCP bullshot.

Hmm no, then use a 1080p or 4K TV that has built in Wifi and Smart features. Something that has Android on it.

Even when they do, they are terrible not worth using. At least the ones on a TV are doable.

Not the cheapest ones. I see $140 might not be enough, and by the way someone mentioned the dpi scaling that's true. Honestly I wouldn't recommend a TV for a computer monitor because of a distance you are supposed to make between you and a TV. A monitor for a TV is fine. Unless you want SMART features like connecting apps to displays. Just get a list of features you can choose from.

A tv will work fine and that would be a decent option. If you can find one though, opt for the 1080P option.

To be honest if you don't care about the space it takes up because the one you are talking about. The price and HDMI port is good enough for connecting computers. It will just look difficult making the resolution on your computer look right. Or, just look for sales and wait for thin smart TVs for your price.
But he didnt ask for that man. He wants a screen for his bedroom not some portable display...

All Monitors have cheap and extremely crap speakers.

I've used and sold tons of monitors since we all used vga only stuff.

Regardless of the monitor design or cost, it's built in speakers will suk badly. Even a pair of 3.5mm stereo speakers you could get for $5 would sound better.

1080p smart hdtv with multiple hdmi, a usb port, ethernet port and wifi are like $100 now days since most store shelves mostly have 4K tvs now.
