Closing Lid Issues on Blade 15
Hey guys and gals. I just bought a Razer Blade 15 laptop with Windows 10 home installed. I am having issues with the close lid power option: even after I set the option to SLEEP on closing the lid of the laptop, it does nothing when I actually close the lid. I tried to change the setting of my mouse as well to not wake the laptop up, but still nothing happens. Here is a video of the issue:

My specs are: Intel core i7 8750h
Nvidia RTX 2060
16 GB Ram
Windows 10 Home

Thanks.

Try using Hibernate instead of sleep, see if that actually works
Hibernate is more for laptops whereas Sleep tends to be more of a Desktop thing.

Also, have you actually tried the Sleep button under the power menu itself to see if it has an effect?

Its also possible that something is stopping it from going to sleep, such as an Internet connection etc so on.

And lastly, go into the advanced settings and under power buttons and lid and make sure its at the settings you want. you should also go under the Sleep setting and make sure sleep after and allow wake timers is set to what you want it to be, its possible if the wake timer is set to enabled that it could stop the laptop from sleeping, unlikely but possible i suppose.

Since when CJ?
Every laptop I've ever owned that came with WINOS had tge default of the sleep mode when lid closed fully. It always worked like it should.

The issue with laptops the past 10 years or so is basically the oem gave up and never install any of the the correct drivers. Even most of what's listed for YOUR laptop on the makers site is usually not even installed currently.

Also let's back up a moment and ask, is Win10 2004 on your system? If so this most likely is your issue, as this is so new, it will never work right on many systems until bugs are fixed and until newer drivers are released and the user grabs and installs them.

To check your Windows version and build, press WINKEY+R and type WINVER and click OK

Hibernate turns the PC off, how the F is that helpful.

"Hibernate mode is very similar to sleep, but instead of saving your open documents and running applications to your RAM, it saves them to your hard disk. This allows your computer to turn off entirely, which means once your computer is in Hibernate mode, it uses zero power. Once the computer is powered back on, it will resume everything where you left off. It just takes a bit longer to resume than sleep mode does (though with an SSD, the difference isn’t as noticeable as it is with traditional hard drives).
Use this mode if you won’t be using your laptop for an extended period of time, and you don’t want to close your documents."

I would just set power profile to high performance then edit it a bit... setting HDD Sleep to 0, setting lid close and power button to, do nothing. Then set sleep button to sleep or hibernate. Laptops have a sleep button. It should be an Fn+F# combo of keys. The ln set your screen dim and off timers.
