1440p is stuck at 60 Hz
Hello all, so I replaced my monitor w/ an ASUS TUF Gaming VG27W. Now, I run a dual-PC setup. When I switch to the displayport, I don't have any of my GUI icons on screen, unless I duplicate the monitor w/ the Elgato.

The Elgato that I'm using is a HD60 Pro. Am I stuck at 60 Hz because of the capture card or am I missing something?

Set the switch to the PC where that PC has the monitor using DP. While both are active, configure the Displays in Nvidia Control Panel so that the Monitor with DP is the Primary #1 Display.

Set the res and refresh in NV CP also, not via Windows Display Settings

The PC that has the capture card, this PC only needs to have the capture card HDMI output connected to another Monitor. Don't connect that PC gpu to the capture card input.

Sure thing. I'm running two PC's w/ a HDMI Switch. I have all the HDMI connectors going into the switch, and the output of the switch is going to the IN on the capture card. The OUT of the card is going to my main monitor (the new ASUS).

However, I'm currently using the displayport w/ the displays dupilcated. Reason being is because again I have no GUI icons on my monitor when using the displayport as my main. And also my OBS doesn't pick up the displayport by itself.

The streaming PC which has the capture card, I have the HDMI going from that PC's GPU to another monitor.

I did do all you mentioned in the NVIDIA Control Panel & it is displaying its set at 165 Hz. But when I go into game, its locked at 60 Hz still.

I stand corrected, the reason I wasn't seeing 144Hz/165Hz was because the game I was testing out, Dead by Daylight, doesn't support it. I switched to Destiny 2 & I was hitting 144Hz. Thank you for your help Bad Motha.

Yes not all games will support it. Many online only games like Dead By Daylight use a 30/60 type of locking method to help ensure the online pacing of the game goes smoothly.
