Acer V233H No sound
Hi all, I recently changed monitors from a TV to an ACER V233H and it does not have speakers so I cannot get any sound when gaming or watching videos. As far as I can tell it does not look like it has audio jacks as this is quite an old monitor and does not have native HDMI port. I am wondering if there is anyway to get sound from this monitor.

Well of course not, it only offers VGA and DVI.
Use DVI connection though, since that is Digital and not Analog.

Get Speakers or use Headphones.
Even ear-buds from your Phone or Tablet will do fine.

i'm pretty sure that DVI, VGA etc doesn't support sound so you're out of luck

just buy a pair of speakers or headphones and plug them directly into your PC for sound

Yes it has to have HDMI or DisplayPort to support Audio directly from your GPU.
Plus the Monitor still has to have those Speakers internally integrated.

Overall, onboard Monitor speakers are very poor anyways, outputting maybe 1 - 2 Watts max per Speaker, if you're lucky.
