Which OS?

Win8/10 likes to default to "Public Network Type" (you want Private)
when you have LAN or WIFI connected during the OS installation.
Go to Network and re-check all settings.

Doesn't hurt anything, but yes it usually will address such issues.
Set Network to Private. Then Restart Windows.

Is this a new OS install that you did... or is this something that randomly changed for the system out of the blue as far as the Network Adapter not working/connecting properly?

Uninstall the Network device completely.
Then go obtain the latest official driver for that device and install it.

If you can provide any of this info, I can link the latest Driver:
> Motherboard brand + model
> Laptop brand + model
> or Network adapter brand + model (such as a stand-alone WiFi adapter)
