Hmm, opened the zip folder, it looks like it needs to be put into a bootable flash drive like I described in the original post. What I'm looking for is a .iso file in other words a disk image file to emulate a disk i would put into my cd drive.
Does anyone know if such a file exists?

Crap installing it as debian 7 in vmware WorkStation
The error reads as follows

A problem has occured and the system can't recover.

So I have already tried this but the message still comes up, and steamOS doesn't even provide any details as to what exactly the problem is. I also tried reinstalling but this message still appears
Have anyone else had this problem? if so, how do I fix it?
