Playstation 4 or Pro
I wondering if I should get a playstation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro
(I already have a old playstation 3 for that matter)

I have a 42" Panasonic VIERA TX-L42U10E which I play to connect with a HDMI channel. So basis I wondering if I should get the PS4 standard/default console or the PS4/PRO version.

I have a interest in this games
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
The Last of Us Part II
Red Dead Redemption 2
Detroit: Become Human
Days Gone
Death Stranding
Metal Gear Survive
Valkyria Revolution
Horizon Zero Dawn

I actually have both. On a regular 32" 1080p TV I really can't tell the difference, maybe someone else can, but I can't.

i agree..., there are no difference when played at 1080p TV.

adding special graphic effects needs whole game further customization. Which needs lots of money and effort, developers can't just customize their games again and again just because Sony releases a new console variants each year or so.., First PS4.... Then ''PS4 Slim'' ......, and now ps4 pro...., don't know what comming next....LOL..!!

If you play a game that has PS Pro support and the devs put in some effort you will see a difference.

Adding extra effects or using higher quality textures on the Pro is no effort at all its just a couple of lines of extra code.

Higher quality texture needs more vRam. But ps4pro has same 8GB vRam amount as original ps4. So their hands are tied. They upgraded only GPU power not vRam amount.

And that 8GB ram is all it got for system memory + video memory together.

Its seems that the Playstation 4 Pro is prober choice, even with only a 1080p display. The PS4 Pro can enable games to utilize extra graphical effects, and run at smoother frame rates. So basic a PS4 Pro can allow games to benefit whether they're played on 4K or just normal 1080p displays.

And some games was getting a upgrade patch where you can boost the frame rate or add extra visual details to the game’s world. like for example.

Horizon: Zero Dawn
Better image quality on 1080p displays.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
More detailed terrain, buildings, and foliage. 1080p multiplayer resolution. Crisper graphics on 1080p displays.

Everyone is copy-pasting from Sony website. :steamhappy:

Sony can tell whatever they want to sell their console.

Here is a comparison video of Horizon Zero dawn, ps4Pro vs Ps4. See if you can find any difference. Cause I didn't find any.

Well now I can tell the difference....

But I didn't notice at the time on a 1080p TV but now I see the difference, but it seems pretty subtle unless you examine it very thoroughly. I think the average console gamer probably would not notice the difference (or someone in denial) at 1080p. If I showed this to my brother he probably would not be able to tell the difference. Is the difference significant, I think not, but someone could think otherwise.

I still think the Pro is only worth it if you have a 4k TV or an AC router depending on how fast someone's internet plan is. I had a 100-120Mbps speed boost with the Pro, this helped with downloading games faster.

You found some difference because you are now sitting in front of the PC, just less than 2 feet away from your monitor.

A typical console gamer play games from 6-7 feet distance......

Obviously there are some difference, but it might need a magnifying glass to observe it. :steammocking:

I would just buy a ps4 for $200 (without free game), Instead of paying $350 for some so called "special graphics", that is not even noticeable.

You know that is actually a good point.
