Best air cooling setup for NZXT Noctis 450?
I recently bought a NZXT Noctis 450 for my current gaming rig. I'm satisfied with that choice in terms of aesthetics, quality of materials, cable management, room size and cooling and storage capabilities. So I do not intend to discuss the benefits, defects or alternatives of this chassis. This is the chassis I have and with which I want to get the best air cooling config using the fans models I have too.

Noctis 450 specs:
  • Dimensions: 220mm x 567mm x 544mm

As I said what I want to ask you is not for other chasis options or other chasis and CPU cooling options but for the best way to config my case air cooling system with this NZXT Noctis 450 so a liquid cooling setup isn't the issue of this thread too. My goal is to get the optimal air flow with this chassis and if possible with the current fans models I'm currently using.

My current air cooling setup on the Noctis 450 is:
  • 3 x 120 mm AF (FN V2 120 - Case version) = Front Intake
  • 1 x 140 mm AF (FN V2 140 - Case version) = Rear Exhaust
  • 2 x 120 mm AF (FN V2 120 - Same case ver specs) = Top Exhaust

Do you think I'm fine with this air config? Should I change something like remove or add some case fan? I'd appreciate any thought, opinion or tip on this regard and thanks in advance.

Here is my current RIG:
  • Intel Core i7-6700
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212X EU
  • MSI Z170A GAMING M7 (MS-7976)
  • 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR4-2133 Kingston HyperX Fury
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
  • Seagate ST2000DX001 SSHD 2TB
  • Corsair RM750x PSU
  • Samsung S24D300H 24" @ 1080p / 60 Hz

I found a 2013 spanish review on BitFenix Spectre PRO LED and the author already commented "Low avalaibility in Spain (Baja disponibilidad en España)" as Cons, I think here there is an specific BitFenix distribution problem even with its Cases, so this lack of distribution it's extended to all its products, there would be definitely a distribution problem in Spain :steamfacepalm: This is probably the reason that the stores do not offer almost any product of this brand and when they offer someone the shipping times are longer than other similar product of its competition.

Anyway I have managed to find them and I am impatient to have and enjoy them. In fact, the equivalent 3-pin AF (non-PWM) fans from Noctua, Corsair and BeQuiet, even thought providing good performance numbers, are all lower in terms of the level of airflow (CFM) they provide, so in theory these BitFenix are currently the best option in the market.

Shame the BitFenix distribution is bad over there. Hopefully you'll find the fans worth the wait :)

Definately the best I could find after I hunted them down. Saw people recommending them on various online sites years ago but still wanted to do my own research before purchasing. Bonus is that they are actually fairly quiet fans considering the increased airflow. My case has a fan controller with low/medium/high speeds. It's always on low, not overclocking anything but even when its high 20 to low 30s degrees celsuis ambient, like it is right now, my CPU/GPU temps are fine. CPU and GPU fan speeds vary between 60-70% usage when gaming.

Even if I crank fan speed to max the so called 'quiet' 10inch fan standing behind me is louder on its lowest settings and thats further away lol

I received the BitFenix Spectre PRO 140mm but I was very disappointed by their low quality of manufacture and its materials :steamsad:. I've decided to return them directly, I have not even wanted to put them in my chassis.

The air flow I would obtain with other models 140mm (3-pin AF) like those of Corsair, Cooler Master or Noctua wouldn't be significantly better than the one I get currently so I will not replace any of my current NZXT fans. I've also found that the temps I'm getting now are pretty good.

Really? I thought the materials and quality were perfectly fine for what they need to do. Shame. As long as your happy with the AF and temps you getting thats the main thing.
