I also included the drive speed as that's quite important too.

4 TB and more will have a high chance of failure rate, so 2 TB is a better option.
Sorry... but I am not going with seagate since i can not trust them. They are unreliable.
As has been already stated, theres ALWAYS a chance for a drive to fail regardless of the Brand, how your PC is handled/maintained can also play a part in this.
If you havent had the drive for long It should still have some kind of warranty.
Yes... it has a warranty until 2023. Seagate are dodgy, so the hard drive will go faulty on again. Once these HD go faulty by this dodgy company... It will likely happen again. I just can't trust seagate.
So results may vary, as with EVERYTHING.
You just need to make sure it is one of the better models. I read BackBlaze that most WD failed based on 2 to 4 years running, and some SeaGate failed based on 6 to 8 years running.
You buy whatever make you want, I personally have Crucial and WD, but Toshiba and Hitachi drives are also good.
It's always a risk with whatever brand, if Seagate works for you then great, yes data from BackBlaze may have some oddities\discrepancies but if a lot of websites quote their data it can't be as skewed as some make out.
I admit I was one of the unfortunate that had the 3TB drive that had a high fail rate and that it was a total pig to get the data off as it couldn't be read by anything other than the sata base that it came with.
Maybe Seagate have improved but it's not a brand for me.
Well that'll certainly encourage them to help you.
The thing is I feel like i have been mugged
They'll probably just look at my email in a dumb way like most tech supporters do.
I won't purchase anything Razer because I've had 2 mice fail within 6 months. Thats my experience. Sure other dislike Razer for the same reasons but others have had no issues with them. I Stick to Logitech mice and I've had friends return and exchange the G502 multiple times yet My G502 has been going for years...unlike the Razer mice.
Only thing left to say is, Welcome to the world of PCs.
Everything has a chance of failing no matter how good a company or product is
May as well get used to it.
