at $150usd range you can find a used stereo or 5.1 receiver and set of bookshelf speakers that will sound way better
then find an amplified sub for $100 to finish it off
check craigslist, facebook and local pawn/2nd hand ships
Well, I'm currently using this:
https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/multimedia-speakers-z213?crid=47
They may seem terrible, but they actually sound surprisingly good, not just for the price, but in general. Anyway, how much better should the Z625 be?
A more accurate system at the same price, the Vizio SB2821-D6[www.walmart.com] would be a better choice, with just about the same amount of bass punch. Has cool features like dynamic range compression, worth checking out.
I finally went for thonet and vander ratsel non-BT version, around same price. Not perfect, but suits me fine. And runs rounds around the other sound-wise. There are other options worth looking at if you want to listen music, rather than just have some noise for games.
Cheaper speakers are pretty garbage.
Otherwise a receiver with speakers or a 5.1 home theater setup is good way to go.
