I've never needed, but then again I never uninstall drivers. I just install and update.

I only use it when downgrading the version or when swapping between nvidia / amd cards.

The only time I've ever really found it helpful was when i was switching from my dual fury setup to a 1080 ti which required a swap from amd to nvidia drivers.

Really only needed when switching GPU from AMD to NVIDIA or vice versa.. comes in handy when driver corruption is suspected as well

DDU is normally recommended to avoid installation issues
I always use it when updating a driver for that reason

I stick to Driver Store Explorer for anything more advanced than the regular control panel device manager.

In most cases, nothing wrong with it. A small percentage of users may get problems doing this but that is easy to sort if it occurs.

This.

Though I did use DDU to reinstall Drivers for my RTX 2070 Super as I was having major issues with it. Nvidia Support had me do all sorts of stuff until they finally believed me in suspecting the card was faulty. Ended up RMA'ing it and getting a replacement that actually worked right lol.
