MINIMUM frame rate is useless long ago. Because of the area loading time or sometimes game engine faults in open world games that brings down the FPS suddenly sometimes. Even the highest GPU can produce 20 FPS in MINIMUM and 0.1% lows.
So, MINIMUM and 0.1% low is not COUNTABLE as valid benchmarks anymore.
AVERAGE and 1% low FPS is what it matters. The first benchmark in your video shows RX 580 gives 52 FPS average in Assassin's creed Odyssey. Also it is an old benchmarks video and games like RDR2 and Metro Exodus are not included. Neither 1660 super benchmarks.
60 fps+ 1% low is neither optimistic nor unrealistic.
''GTX 1660 super'' can play almost all modern games 60+ FPS on both Average and 1% low on HIGH settings but RX 580 can't.
16mb is enough for each 1080p display
but games use the vram for texutre, models, lightmpas ect...
games with more detailed models can use more vram
Min fps is just that, to see less than 60fps doesn't mean you're getting 60fps all the time that's got to be the most asinine analogy yet.
Anyway I don't have the time to waste clearing up fud.
Have a nice day.
The problem is not the 4GB VRAM but game optimization most of times, I myself played GRID 2019 few weeks ago and all ran well, 99% time 60+ fps high settings 1920 x 1080p CSAA, but now I played today and it runs like crap, under 40 and 30 fps during tracks, looking Afterburner it shows GPU from 99% load to 1% which means is a poor optimized game, I don't have issues in other games so it must be that game, and no it's not VRAM limit the issue since I experienced fps drops even in low settings 1280x720p.
I probably will avoid AMD GPUs next upgrade, always drivers issues with them.
