XBOX 360 Controller "Outside deadzone" problem
I bought a new XBOX 360 controller to replace one that I had that was wearing out and drifting. My problem with the new one is that the sticks are too sensitive, I'm not talking about any specifit game, but when I open the Joystick Calibration Tool on Windows 10.

When I move my Stick to any side, when I reach 50% of physical movement, on the game or on windows, it's already 100%, which makes the rest of the outer range of the sticks a deadzone.

What does it mean in games? That the game will detect 100% stick input when I have it halfway, making it very difficult to aim in shooters, or steer in racing games, or even walk in RPGs where you walk just by softly pushing the stick.

Any idea how this can be solved? As I said, it's not game specific, so any recomendation to go to game settings and adjusting sensibility is not going to work, I need a way to make my stick physical movement relative to the software input.

you can tweak the deadzones with steam controller settings
steam -> settings -> controller -> [general] -> select the controller -> [calibrate] -> adjust deadzones

It will only allow you to calibrate the inner deadzone. For the rest, the remaining outer zone of the sticks will remain dead.

You can increase the deadzone outer and decrease sensitivity in controller settings through steam.

Other than that, if you want better aim in shooters and you can upgrade to a Steam Controller.

Unless it's a casual laid back story game, it's best to get good with KB and Mous. As online shooters on PC, you'd be highly outmatched by other players if you're using a controller. Now in games like GTAV, I switch between both, as I prefer to Fly with Controller.
