Downgraded from 34" Ultrawide to 27" 165hz
I know you think i'm crazy, and I had that ultrawide for a long time, but it was just too big (ladies) to use in the end. Not only was it too big, it was also very hit or miss with what games it supported and how it was supported. Now I can relax knowing that every single game I play will look like how it was meant to, and straight away the monitor clicked for me, yes it's ALOT smaller, but I have quickly gotten use to it.

Not sure if anyone has done the same, probably not because yeah it's crazy, but it is what it is. On the bright side, it is 30% less pixels so that's a 30% increase in performance at least.

Whatever works best for you. If you feel more comfortable, that's all that matters.
I bought a Predator Z35 a couple years back used i for 11 month and the thing broke so i got a full refund and downsized to a 27'' the ultrawide was nice, something different, but felt a tad weird when playing FPS games to me, i prefer standard ratio.

27” does seem to be the sweet spot for a gaming monitor I’ve discovered.
If it is something for your personal, then downgraded would be right for you.

Last time, I almost bought the MetCal soldier station which is $1000, but then I look at a cheaper soldier station from Hakko, and it is much better.
For me, it's ultrawide or super ultrawide! Bought an Acer XR341CK 34" 21:9 75Hz monitor a number of years back and I was hooked. I also have a 32:9 49" 3840x1080 144Hz monitor that I love for certain kinds of games, like racing, slower paced FPS like COD MW/Metro series/Strange Brigade, etc. I find gaming fast paced FPS like UT3 and Series Sam serious to be more satisfying.

As for TS, personal preference, so as long as he's happy with the move from 34" to 27", who are we to say otherwise?

27" is definitely the sweet spot for 1440p. I find that 24" is the largest anyone should get for 1080p. (I run a 24" 1080p and 27" 1080p monitor setup, 24" is noticeably sharper and less blurry)

Definitely better. Ultra-wide is a niche for a reason.
I'm still with a 24" monitor, and these days I'm considering which monitor to buy.
I've two options, with identical price:
- 34" 2560x1080p IPS 144hz LG 34GL750
- 27" 2560x1440p IPS 144hz LG 27GL83A
27" looks like the rational choice, while the 34" the cool one
I am very unsure about what to do, I feel like a lot depends on what one plays.
Unfortunately the OP's profile is private and I can't see what type of games is playing.
I'm planning to play things like the witcher 3, xcom, total war, rainbow six, battlefield 4... very different games, this makes my choice even harder :rfacepalm:
