Do nvidia 3d vision drivers cause issues?
I have had a crashing issue in exclusively rocket league for a while. I get an error - livekernelevent 141.

I saw a recommended fix online that says to use DDU and then manually download only the GPU driver and not any 3d vision drivers.

So far the game has not crashed at all. Could this have been a possible fix? I'm not sure if it makes sense.

Using recomended drivers from manufacturer and up to date fixes a lot fo crashes. The 3D aspect should be included with drivers anyway as they usualy needed in certain games .

Nvidia ceased support for 3d vision a while ago. The last driver that supported 3DV was released early last year. Not all games work with 3DV.

3d Vision driver is included with the normal driver. Just don't select it when installing the same way you can select not to install Geforce Experience.

No need to install it unless you have a capable monitor, the glasses and games that actually support it.

Well first of all I forgot to mention I went to my manufacturers website to install the driver (EVGA)

What's odd is that when I chose advanced installation, there wasn't even an option to uncheck any 3d vision drivers- it just showed the HD audio, PhysX, GE and the driver itself - I only checked off the driver and physX.

Idk, hopefully this 3d vision thing was the problem for me. I also have an old monitor (60 hz) . LCD though, 1080 p.

Its not included because they stopped supporting it as previously mentioned.
You'd have to use a much older driver that still has it included to be able to use it

so do you think that is why I was getting the crashes? I had geforce experience and express installed normally.

so would you say I may have fixed the issue by getting the driver off the EVGA website (manufacturer of my card). I have not gotten a live kernel event since. Hopefully it stays that way.

You always get the drivers from Intel, Amd, Nvidia...

Yes, but my question is: I see it was recommended to manually install GPU drivers specifically from your cards manufactures website- it's an nvidia driver of course, but what your manufacturer recommends.

This is also suggested to be done by doing "advanced" custom installation and unchecking any 3d vision drivers HD nvidia audio, GeForce experience (which I did) and only checking off the driver itself and PhysX.

I have not seen the livekernelevent 141 error in reliability monitor since then, and I have not had any freezes.

To say the issue is resolved would be way too soon- but I am wondering if this manual installation and wiping of my drivers (DDU in safe mode) could have been a fix?

Could geforce experience have made my PC have some 3d vision drivers from months ago still? Or just faulty drivers that could crash my rocket league? This is what I'm wondering. Dont want false hope.

The maker just links drivers directly from nvidia. It's makes zero difference who makes your gpu card.

Wipe with ddu in safe mode.
Wipe out everything for intel, amd, nvidia. Click the option to disable Windows auto driver handling.

Reboot, download latest drivers for motherboard chipset, from amd or intel... and latest driver for gpu from nvidia.

Then run the chipset driver to install it. When it's done, reboot and run the gpu driver installer. Reboot when done.
