Black screen when monitor is plugged into dvi port
My screen disconnects randomly within 30 mins of being connected to graphic card ports (works perfectly when running through motherboard).

I have:
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 970 Mini ITX OC
GA-h97-gaming 3
intel core i5-4590 3.30ghz
8g ram
thunder 600w power supply
windows 10 64-bit

Its running perfectly up till it disconnects and I don`t believe its overheating (cleaned entire PC 3 times to make sure, replaced thermal paste/pads and the CPU seems to spike just before it disconnects while temperature remains around 30-40)

I have tested it with a monitor and a TV and with different cords (unfortunately I don`t have another PC to test it on, but I`m fairly certain its the graphics card as it works no problem when running through the motherboards connectors)

I`ve updated drives and bios (this seemed to improve how long it lasted on average but disconnect still happens)

These problems started to happen after a corrupted windows 10 update that resulted in a clean install (don`t know if that is pure coincidence but thought it was worth mentioning, as everything was working fine leading up till that)

I don`t think the card is broken as it works perfectly fine (no loss of frame rate or bugs) till it suddenly disconnects, which also results in the motherboards connection cutting out as well which the graphics (tried using dual monitor to test this, it seems that once I trying running the monitor through the graphics card it cuts the connection for the motherboard as well, but if i only run the monitor though the motherboard i have no problems what so ever besides not being able to use my graphics card)

I was thinking maybe someone has experienced this problem and found a solution? my warranty run out a while ago and the fact that its still works perfectly up till the disconnect makes me think there is a solution to this issue other than buying a new graphics card because i really don`t want to pay $150 - $300+ if there is a possible way to fix this. Id really appreciate any ideas anyone has as i`ve gone through nearly every solution i`ve come across

I would double check the card is inserted properly and the pcie cable too, maybe try a different pcie cable if your psu has another.

does kinda sound like a psu failure.. does it happen when the machine is left to sit idle or does it only happen when gaming? if it only happens when gaming it could be 1 of 2 things.. a failing psu or the graphics card itself has a problem (possibly the onboard power delivery)

it happens within 30mins regardless of what im doing, gaming, on the internet or not doing anything
𝔇ave 5/mai./2020 às 1:25
that's really random.. is it always the exact same amount of time?
Bennyboy 5/mai./2020 às 1:28
usually within 30mins, it happens randomly, could be 2-3mins or 10-15mins

i would suspect a problem with the psu then.. what model psu? watts, age etc..

nm saw the wattage in your OP.. but how old and what model? never heard of thunder...

Try a different PCIe power cable. If it's a modular PSU try connecting GPU to a different port on it.
Bennyboy 5/mai./2020 às 1:32
i can only fit the gpu in the one port due to how my case is and i only have one PCIecable (power supply is a "thunder" 600w)
Bennyboy 5/mai./2020 às 1:34
well i have only one PCIe cable thats 8pin the other is only 6pin
Bennyboy 5/mai./2020 às 1:34
i think im talking about the right one my knowledge isnt the best sorry
Bennyboy 5/mai./2020 às 1:36
sorry the power supply is a cooler master "thunder" 600w about 4-5 years old
𝔇ave 5/mai./2020 às 1:52
according to coolermasters website on the thunder psu it has 2x 6+2 pin connectors.. is that correct or is your model configured differently?

it appears to be different i only have the 1 6+2 pin connector
and 1 6pin conector
