GTX 2080 for 3440x1440 Monitor?
Hi, I've been recently founding out that the RTX 2080 is very capable for a 3440x1440 monitor, my LAPTOP (nitro 5 acer) has a gtx 2080 geforce and I found out games like roblox, rainbow six siege, forest, etc... Have a really bad fps and has a tint of input lag. Can someone tell me if the graphics card on my laptop can handle these high res games?

Shouldnt have an issue. Perhaps thermals, the nitro 5 is known for having heat issues.

I have an old desktop class GTX-960 4GB that I use for 1440p in my secondary rig the GF uses and it can easilly handle R6S and Forrest (not maxed, but not minimums either).

You should be miles ahead of that.

It’s true they do have a heat issues. They used a shoddy thermal paste. But it’s better than ASUS TUF.
Anyway make sure that you’re not running the game in integrated graphic instead of dedicated.
yes, unless its a 120+hz display
then it will need lowered settings and a fast cpu
Right now I am using 99 hertz according to my game's display settings, does RED mean the intel chip in my laptop (intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU). So use both the geforce and the intel and make sure I'm not using the CPU instead of the Intel chip?
Should be fine. I have a GTX 1080 ti for the same resolution. It has a little lower performance than the RTX 2080 - not GTX.
If the OP has an RTX2080 mobile chip, then it does not perform like its desktop counterpart. Due to heat issue, unavoidable in a laptop, it might throttle under stress. Get a laptop cooler, and perhaps ensure games are being run with the RTX2080 instead of the Intel iGPU. Not sure about this as I've not used a laptop for years now....

the mobile cpu and gpu are much weaker than desktop versions

mobile gpu has much weaker power delivery and cooling

the intel laptops always use the intel hd, the nvidia gpu writes to the intel hd frame buffer for it to display
vsync/freesync/gsync/adaptive are handled by the intel hd
So what do you guys think I should do right now? Get a fan for my laptop?
