Arctis 9x Xbox Wireless headphones (using xbox usb wireless dongle) HELP!

I'm hoping someone out there with this headset can please help me!

I've got an Arctis 9x Xbox Wireless headset connected to my PC using the xbox usb wireless dongle. I can hear audio fine.

The question I have is, should Windows 10 detect this as an xbox controller or should it detect it as an Arctis 9x headset?

At the moment Windows 10 is showing it as an xbox controller. The issue I have is that windows also isn't able to control the volume of the headset at all.

Anyone else out there using this headset on a PC?

Return it and get one that is USB for PC if that's what you want. That headset is meant to connect wireless direct to Xbox One. It can't work fully as intended via pc xbox one usb wireless adapter, thus is why it shows as a controller, as is all that dongle is intended for.

For that kind of pricing you could easily find something better suited to work on consoles and PC, like an ASTRO A50 or similar
