Have you seen a microphone volume setting?

The gaming headset is known to have more issues than headphones and a stand-alone microphone.

where do you mean?

The reason why audio would sound different through Discord and something like Windows' voice recording application would be the fact that the two programs use different audio encoders. The audio will not sound the same from one codec to another, and before you ask, no, I'm pretty sure you can't change what codec Discord uses.

All you can really do is tweak the microphone settings in Windows and Discord to see if you can make it sound better with Discord's Opus codec.

Most built-in microphones are usually pretty garbage, especially from brands like Kingston and Logitech. For even remotely decent built-in microphones you'd have to get into the audiophile level hardware from brands like Beyerdynamic, Audio-Technica, and Sennheiser.

Make sure the microphone is pointing at your mouth.

Turn the gain up in windows.

Turn quality up in windows.

Go into discord settings and check to make sure your noisegate and audio volumes are set up properly.

Make sure there's nothing that would hinder the quality, like back ground suppression etc.
