Help - Buying a new Laptop
Hi, I am buying a new laptop and I want to make sure I will be able to use Steam without any problems.

Does this seem a good "2 in 1 laptop" to have my Steam account without any problems?

Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 (7591)
10th Generation Intel Core i7-10510U Processor (8MB Cache, up to 4.9 GHz)
15.6-inch UHD (3840 x 2160) Truelife Touch Narrow Border WVA Display (Touch Display)
16GB 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz
512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) MX250 with 2GB GDDR5 graphics memory

Windows 10 Home Edition 64bit

I am about to buy it and my understanding is that it is a great laptop (2 in 1).
But I would like an opinion of someone that really understand computers and that I will be able to play Steam without much problems.

Any comments/assistant really appreciated.

Thank you very much.

ok been looking a bit at these specs and i retract my previous post, sorry man. processor great for doing your wordsheets and that, gaming not so much. RAM decent amount, solid state drive good for fast loads cant go wrong with that, 2Gig vram is ok but rather have more then less with that. i mean my current graphics card i have, have 2gig vram and i can play games like doom and gta 5 without lowering graphic settings. But i rather recommend a different processor and graphics card. The processor base core is 1.8ghz in this laptop, so you rather want the base to be higher, and more vram on thegraphics card, like i said rather more especially if you want to play current or future games, but if you just want to play older games then just better processor.

if i look at the games you have, most of the games i own and can play with my graphics card no problem, and like i said, i also play doom and gta 5 with my graphics card.

THANK YOU!
Since I started reading all your comments, (THANK YOU), I have been looking around for different options then, as I got a bit concerned on the speed/processors and all your comments here.

I am thinking to get this one below instead my initial thought then - same price but not touch screen and not "2 in 1":

Dell G3 15

9th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-9750H (12MB Cache, up to 4.5 GHz, 6 cores)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design, 6GB GDDR6

16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 2666MHz

256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive (Boot) + 1TB 5400 rpm 2.5" SATA Hard Drive (Storage)

15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) 300 nits IPS Anti-Glare LED Backlit Display with 144Hz refresh rate

Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, English
What's your budget and is gaming one of the main purposes of buying a new notebook?
What size should the notebook have?

You want to look at a notebook similiar to this one: https://www.lenovo.com/ch/en/laptops/ideapad/l-series/IdeaPad-L340-15IRH-Gaming/p/88IPL301161

My recommendation for a gaming notebook:
CPU: i7-8750H / i7-9750H
GPU: GTX 1650 or better
RAM: 16 GB in Dual-Channel configuration
Screen: 1080p, 144Hz with AdaptiveSync

The Ryzen 4000H Series processor notebooks will be released soon. They offer very good performance at a very attractive price. I highly recommend to wait for the release of these notebooks.

o yes, touch screen. that can make huge difference in price and hardware like you see now. and banarama posted something similiar to what you posted
rather leave the touchscreen to smartphones and tablets. touchscreens is a bit pricey and not really worth having it for computers unless if thats your scene

Wow guys so much information here.... but amazing, I will leave the touch screen out of question now, and definitely will lower the resolution from 4k to FHD

Thank you so much for all this input guys. It made me realised I was not buying the right thing for what I want.

I will use the specs here above and will be getting the last one I posted the Dell G3 15. It has same things , I guess one or two a bit above but it look great and good price for all this technology.

Thanks again for all of you who helped me !

This is much better laptop. Buy this one instead.
and it also shows that you have a decent budget for decent laptop. glad that we could give some advice
Can you share the link to the respective model?
I highly recommend a model which monitor supports GSync. A GSync compatible monitor is worth the additional fee.

You can edit your post. If you move your mouse over your post, on the upper right corner appears an edit button.

Will you mainly use your notebook in combination with the external monitor? Why are you not buying a desktop PC instead? It's cheaper and offers better performance.
Because I will use the laptop to work too so I will be moving the laptop around.
(thanks for the tip about editing ! :D )

and you can also get better hardware for the same price as what you will be paying for the laptop.

its usually why people wants laptop, to be able to jam games and be mobile for work
A very good desktop PC incl. monitor and a notebook designed for office work might be cheaper than the 1'300£ of the Dell G3 15 with the external monitor.

It's also a replacement notebook. You already own one and that might offer enough power for office tasks.

Just food for thought.

The second one is way better if you aim gaming and MUST have a notebook for some other reason. Probably still costs twice as much as a desktop with better hardware. Make sure you really need mobility.

One serious weakness of a notebook in gaming use is heat -- it has no space inside to take it away so it is restricted to lower freq, throttling and fan noise through the roof under the load.

Some of that can be mitigated using external GPU. It might be a good idea to research that direction before the buy.
