LGA1151 CPU on a LGA1150 Mainboard?
I want to by myself an Intel Core i7-9700 because my CPU is very old and my PC is losing a whole lot of performance because of that.

On the website it says that its a LGA1151 CPU but my Mainboard (H97 PC Mate from MSI) supports LGA1150. So im pretty unsure if this is even going to work out.

As u can probably tell im not a computergeek. I know how to put one together but as soon its gettin into details im completely lost.

So i would like to ask some people, who know what they are talking about, if this is even going to work. Yelp :/

sry for bad london if something isnt correct but i think u get the point

It's not going to work. Completely different socket, and BIOS won't support more than 4th gen.

No, it is not going to work.

Pretty sure the best CPU you can get for 1150 socket is i7-4790K.

It's a very good chip, though.

Nothing to do here without new motherboard and new DDR4 RAM.

Nope. Wont work 1151 cpus only work on 1151 and also 1151 uses ddr4 whereas 1150 uses ddr3.

MSI H97 PC Mate only supports Intel 4th gen. So best bet is a used 4771, 4770, 4770K, 4790K. But update to latest bios first.

I7-9700 is 9th gen, this would require a Z390 board
