1. Why 2133? Ryzen absolutely needs a minimum of 3000 MHz to get anywhere near Intel in gaming performance.
2. 1050 Ti is a lot better than the Vega 11.

asus also makes one as does MSI as well as gigabyte , all in low profile
The 2133Mhz was the best I could afford when upgrading. That said, this isn't primarily a gaming rig, but I am wondering if I can get a little better performance on a few of the games I do play on here.
I think there may also be a motherboard restriction on it's speed. It's a Lenovo tower and quite low end specs. Lenovo V530 ThinkCentre.

get ether a 1070 mini or a 1650 super mini.
1050ti is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ card these days (i would know. i own one)
it can't handle anything recent at 1080p anymore. this card is past its dates
and the fact they are being sold for almost triple what they are actually worth doesn't help
right now i can sell my 1050ti used for more then i bought it new. what kinda logic is that.
i know you need low profile, why i suggested the 1070 mini or the 1650 mini, they are decently priced (tho the 1070 mini will need to be bought used, as they are completely overpriced "new" because they aren't making them anymore) but used they go for 200-300 CAD so around 170-230 USD and both of those cards smack the floor with the 1050ti.
as for not having an extra 8 pin, depending on what your wattage is on the PSU i would honestly just use a molex adapter , i know it frowned apon but the 1070 mini doesn't draw alot of power and it does work, plus you'd be getting way better performance for the same price as a 1050ti.
No it's pretty significant, and there's always used models. 1050 Ti and similar performing cards are fine if you just let go of trying to have good visuals.
you need to play 900p and in some games all the way down to 720p and low-med settings
i guess for older titles. yeah its alright, still not great though but i'd still go with a mini 1070 and get a molex connector for the 8pin. not the best solution but its going to provide way better performance. OP is going to be pretty disappointed going from his current set up to a 1050ti.
hardly going to see much of a difference. 20% isn't alot when you are only getting 30fps in the first place. 20% on 30fps is like 40fps not even... even for 100$ CAD the 1050ti is a bad deal.
i wouldn't pay a dime over 50$ CAD
you can get a 570 for 70$
and that card is 30-40% faster then a 1050ti
Issue is that his PC is a barebones Lenovo pre-built, not a gaming rig he built on a budget. I highly doubt that Lenovo put in a PSU that would be able to handle the power draw of an RX 570 under full load, which matches a GTX 1080 in power consumption. I've worked on Lenovo pre-builts before, they design their low end systems for office/basic home use, so the PSU involved probably isn't going to be above 400W and not even rated.
It probably doesn't even have the power connectors for anything more than a 1050 Ti or 1650, that's how most cheap pre-builts with on-board graphics are.

^^^^^---- and that is a normal 1070. not even the less power consumption 1070 mini.
im pretty sure it'll be able to.
also that is why i asked.
i was just referencing the 570, i don't suggest it.
i suggested the 1650 super mini or a 1070 mini,
and i already said, use a molex- 8pin. it'll work for a single 8 pin on the 1070 mini. alot of dell optiplexs are running these cards.
There's no 1070 with a single 6-pin. The 1070 requires an 8-pin minimum, which the majority of OEM PSUs in pre-builts don't even have, and adapters are risky business.
Not like he'll find a used 1070 in his budget regardless, they usually go for way more than 1650s do brand new.
He's best off getting a 1650 since it'll just run off of the PCI-e slot. Easiest to run on ♥♥♥♥ power supplies.
and i guess? it'll work just fine. alot of people use them without any issue.
if you're PSU is a decent one, you'll have nothing to worry about.
much more worth to go with something like a 1650 super or a 1070 mini then 1050ti.
unless you can get a 1050ti for like super super cheap.
and yes you can find a used 1070 mini for that price what are you talking about.
1. It's a Lenovo pre-built designed for basic use and not gaming, it's not going to have a remotely decent PSU with an 8-pin, he'd be lucky to even have a 6-pin.
2. I've been in his shoes before and used various adapters to get an 8-pin on a SeaSonic PSU that didn't have an 8-pin, and it had serious power issues. A SeaSonic unit is guaranteed to be a lot better than the crap Lenovo puts in to save a quick buck. I know for a fact it's a crap PSU because I've worked on plenty of low grade Lenovo systems in the past.
Look at the form factor he needs.
LOW PROFILE, meaning, SMALLER THAN NORMAL PCI-E SLOT HEIGHT.
He needs one of those half height ones, otherwise it won't fit in his case.
And last I checked, they don't make half height 1070's.
