Bad performance on ROG gaming laptop
I have a rog gaming laptop with:
16 gb ram
GTX 1050ti 4gb
i7 7700HQ

I have the latest drivers installed, the gpu is selected in nvidia settings yet my fps averages to 50 with stutters in Csgo and even worse in other games.

idk about other games and if the gtx 1050 ti is strong enough for them but you should get +100 fps on max settings in csgo...

get a monitor software to check temps + cpu/gpu usage and maybe run a benchmark like userbenchmark to see if all parts work properly...

Gpu temp is around 70 in games, cpu usage is normal, around 40%.
I did a benchmark and i got 30% on the gpu

UserBenchmarks: Game 35%, Desk 61%, Work 40%
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ - 62.7%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050-Ti (Mobile) - 31.5%
SSD: Micron_1100_MTFDDAV256TBN 256GB - 79.3%
HDD: Toshiba MQ01ABD100 1TB - 61.7%
RAM: Samsung M471A2K43BB1-CRC 1x16GB - 40.4%
MBD: Asus GL753VE

You just have a weak gpu.

Do you play csgo on the lowest or highest settings? What map did you play on and what resolution

Try playing it at the lowest settings and see what fps you get. Even try 4:3 stretched.

Personally I care more about fps than looks in csgo, Id rather hit 300-400 fps average on mirage with lowest settings at 1600x1200 then play max 2560x1440 but not hit 144fps

I got stutters in older games like Skyrim as well, very weird

Have you tried any of these games at the lowest graphics settings?

Your graphics card is far from high end, it would get around 60-70 fps on skyrim at max settings when paired with a top end cpu and ram. You however dont have a top end cpu so you'll get less than what people show on benchmark charts.

Your gpu is on par with a HD7950 which gets 73 fps on skyrim. Do remember thats with an i7 5960x so you probably would get slightly less but not by much.
