i9-10900k RAM
According to Intel Ark the i9-10900k uses DDR4-2933 RAM. Can I substitute my existing DDR4-2666 RAM which I own 48GB of or do I need to buy new RAM to boot this monster?

And if I have to buy new RAM, are 32GB sticks (to get 64GB dual channel) compatible with all Z490 motherboards or will I have to buy a set of 4 16GB sticks?

Just planning in case another $1200 stimulus check arrives.

That speed is the maximum supported clockspeed for the memory. You can get lower clocked RAM or higher clocked RAM, both will work fine.

So to get it to come up I can cannibalize my old motherboard for RAM? Good to know.

It's just the recommend speed for that cpu family is all.

Just like 8th, 9th Gen and all Ryzen it is recommended to use 2666 minimum for those.

I would just go get 2x8gb or 2x16gb @ 3200
