Is process lasso tool safe to use?
https://bitsum.com/

So I'm playing a heavily modded game where the dev recommends to use that tool to make the game run better.

Is it safe to use?
Does it alter anything without your input? I mean here like "optimizing" your OS after it got installed or something like that?

Anyone here have experience with that tool?

Yeah it's safe.
Process Lasso is legitimate. However in my opinion this piece of software kinda falls into the 'snake oil' category at least on the average consumer level, yet some self-proclaimed software/OS experts on the Internet will always argue that the Windows process manager is terrible in comparison to these 3rd party managers.

Give it a try and see the results for yourself. Just don't expect it to be some miracle worker that can bring some decade old hardware up to current top tier.

I have used it in the past. It was when using windows 7 and using my PC for gaming + other things.
It was to control the process priorities and run games. It helped at the time.

I purchased it. My licence mysteriously stopped and I thought it was a lifetime licence for personal use.
Now it is subscription only. I do not trust it.

As for now with windows 10 much for efficient there is little need.
My gaming PC is for games only.
Everything else another machine with linux.

You need to have a decent knowledge of how computers & operating systems work to make good use of it.
If unsure then maybe do not bother with it.

used to have it as part of giveawayoftheday.com freebie...

I'm not thinking about using it because of my hardware, but because the mod is so huge and build on top of a game made in unity engine so that practically even on the newest hardware the performance is crap, that's why the mod dev is suggesting to use process lasso.

I'm here worried if the app would with thinker my machine without me knowing.
If all it does is limit the cores/threads and change game priority, you can do that yourself.

Task manager, core affinity and priority.
Set it to however many cores gets the best .1% lows, and average FPS.

I know that but manually doing that is tiresome... Besides, I don't know the equivalent "I/O" setting from that tool in windows setting, because the mod need such tweak.
