Laptops running hot while gaming is perfectly normal, 90c+ isn't anything special for these machines.
Wipe the laptop clean and install latest Win10 64bit 1909 or 2003, via your own own Win10 USB flash drive.
But yes cooling pad is about all you can do with that.
For a game like GTAV, an ssd and 16gb ram sure helps. Also restarting the game every couple hours helps also.
You can undervolt a CPU with Intel XTU and startup parameters if you know how.
I did this before on my Alienware 17 R5 which uses a locked i7-8750H.
when an Intel CPU is "Locked" it means you cannot change many things, such as the CPU Ratio or speed, but undervolting still is not one of it.
an H-CPU is not an U-CPU. the U-CPU's are cut in half CPU's they only got half the cores and threads. Its pruely for office work and it has many cutbacks as not being able to undervolt.
Also a reason GTA V will torture the CPU as it is a simpel dual core CPU.
PS: Locked onyl emans youc ant chaneg the multiplier of the CPU. Youc an still overclock through BCLK. However both needs to eb supported by the motherboard aswell. An U-CPU is absolute budget evrsion for office work that normal dont have the chipset with the motherboard that allows basic stuffs like udnervolting.
