3200mhz with i7 7700k and Asus Maximus VIII Hero
Will 16gb of 3200mhz work fine with a i7 7700k and Asus Maximus VIII Hero?

i will be enabling xmp on the ram. The maximus viii max ram speed is 3200mhz would the ram work fine with the cpu and board?

Yes, it doesn't matter how much ram you have as long as it is the same speed.
You wouldn't be able to use 3600MHz but any amount of 3200MHz will work without problems.

Yes as they'll have different XMP profiles

Why an VIII Hero motherboard?

Why not something Newer?

I actually found the VII better then the VIII
despite the VIII supporting DDR4 RAM...

They remove some features on the VIII,
which I didnt like, such as 1 of those was that the VIII has a lot less USB Ports on it...

They removed other things, too...

My friend has the VIII Hero Motherboard...
I dont even know if the VIII is still being Updated, it came out right when Win 10 came out... So its like the bare bottom of
Win 10 Supported Motherboards right now...

I mean dont get me wrong, I got 2 Computers using the ASUS Maximus Hero Motherboards, & ive liked them myself...

Regardless, this is what the OP purchased and we don't know when the OP bought it. They can choose to buy whatever they like, they don't have to buy what other people want.

It will be best to disable xmp before installing any new ram that's different. So that all the ram settings are on auto again, to ensure the system boots fine once the new ram is installed. Once it is installed, re-enable xmp again and if there is a choice, pick the 3200mhz profile.

It was cheap at the time and looks good, personally thats what i liked when i bought it late 2017, getting a new cpu later in the year so i will be getting a new motherboard, I have a case with 4 usb ports and theres still like. The motherboard has like 6 usb's on the back so thats 10 usb's all together, I use like 3.

Yes. Then save and exit the bios, after it posts again, reenter the bios, then force off the PC via the rear PSU switch, then swap out your ram.
