Hotswapping options can get expensive unless you're using garbage clones.
You're looking at paying for the brand, or their keycaps, which admitedly is nice.
Not worth the money. Imho.
I can recommend the GMMK it's great, allows you to do what YOU want with the board.
It's got pretty much anything anyone could want.
I would recommend a TKL (one without the numpad), and Gateron switches, as they tend to be smoother and cleaner than Cherry switches.
I don't know about the Durgod, never heard it.
I do recommend getting a board with hotswapable switches. It makes repairing so much easier. And, getting bored of the switches? BUY NEW SWITCHES, a fraction of the cost of an actual board. And you can always go back to your older switches, or do a mish-mash of something like tactiles on functions, and linears on letters and numbers.
It's whatever you want.
But, I agree with Escorve, grab a switch tester (Glorious sell one iirc.), or test in a shop.
Though, the G-pro is a great keyboard, if I could ask, why're you looking to replace it?
GMMK uses Gateron brown by default, I have them in my Qisan Magicforce 68, easily my favorite board.
My friend needed a new keyboard so i was getting a new one and giving him my G-Pro, so glad i did, got the GMMK with Gateron browns and it feels 10X better than the Romer Gs so clean and sharp as you type, i have also ordered some Hyper x pudding caps but they have not arrived yet.
I disagree the bump is less resistant on the gat browns and they feel like they hit the bottom when i type, the Romer-Gs felt really mushy to me at the bottom i guess thats why you are saying they feel similar with dampening o-rings on, i soooo love this GMMK though where have i been lol, i still love my G903 but Glorious have won the keyboard battle by a mile for me.
I dont like Corsair keyboards and i wanted to try something other than Logitech as i have used them for a while.
Having used Romer-G Tactiles, I agree. Romer-G is one of the worst switches I've ever used, only better than membrane and membrane-mechanical hybrids.
Why? I've used Corsair, Razer, Logitech, HyperX, Redragon, and Cooler Master mechanical keyboards and I hold Corsair above the rest on the list as the best of all of them. A lot of people recommend Corsair for keyboards and Logitech for mice, so what makes you dislike them in particular?
What sets Corsair apart from the rest of the manufacturers I listed is quality -- the only brand on that list I found capable of even approaching Corsair's was HyperX. Logitech and Razer's quality is very mixed and mostly crap, Redragon is an ultra-budget brand, and Cooler Master's peripherals are largely disappointing.
Fist 2 keyboards i bought where Mechanical corsair and i just didn't like the feel of them, they felt cheap and not very solid, the Logitech G-Pro i just gave away felt allot more solid and sturdy but the keys felt Mushy, just personal i suppose each to their own, i hated the 2 corsair mice i have bought also but i have since used 3 Logitech mice and liked all of them, the G903 being the best of those, so i suppose its just personal.
Which board though? If it was a STRAFE keyboard then I can see why, because they're just lumps of plastic, while similarly priced K70s have more metal incorporated into the build and they just feel better.
I've had both old and new model K70s, they've always been pretty much "industry-leading".
K70 or K95 are top notch
Cant remember, but they were not cheap i have a tendency to always opt for the most expensive option, like i said its just personal i suppose some will like some wont, but i can say this GMMK is top wack in my opinion, i may try corsair again one day but for now, i no where to get my keyboards.
STRAFE and K70s cost the same but the K70 is miles ahead of the STRAFE line.
