Don't worry about it that much unless you are actually throttling, or other thermal related issues. (Noise being a valid complaint too.)
If you really want to be sure, dust out your PC (radiator and all), if that doesn't work, repaste your CPU, and make sure you're using proper mounting pressure.
You could also see what voltage you're using. If you're running something high, it's to be expected that temps will be warmer.
Also, asking people what their temps are isn't that great of an idea, as it varies from case to case, literally in this instance.
Case, how many fans in the case, what cooler they're running, what motherboard they're running, ambient temperatures, voltages being run, the clockspeed of their processor, and their workload.
It all matters, and all factors to the final result.
they have charts on what cpu batches are best at overclocking
It's currently running at 4.5ghz with 1.15V voltage
Idle temp at 31'c
Highest temp under synthetic load is 51'c
The cooler is an EK Waterblock hooked up to a 360mm Radiator with noctua 3000 fans.
The case is clean, atm the temps on my H100 Gtx(is basically the H100i v2 version) is at 43c
Pump and fan MUST stay at extreme or it spikes to high 90s, heat ONLY became an issue when I upgraded from the i7 6700k, and then to worrysome levels once I added a 970evo, that is what caused heat to really pick up.
nice ty
Thanks for sharing info everybody!
The most common is it shouldn't go over 80C if possible. Make sure it has an airflow way correctly. Over 90C is not good.
I have Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master and Lian Li 011D XL, so I can't speak for your motherboard and case since it is not the same.
The Lian is know to have amazing air flow. My case is about 7 years old, but kept very clean. My mobo is Z390UD by Gigabyte. I am toying with the idea of putting my Hyper 212 evo in for testing, since its brand new, I bought it in case my aio ever died, and I needed a back up cooler until I could get a new one.
I am currently thinking either Noctua NH-D15, or a 280mm beefy kracken aio, but leaning toward the Noctua. Also my mobo was cheat,. $120 and heat got bad after putting the evo 970 on it
evo 212 air cooler i've got two fans on it in a push pull setup
What speeds does your 9700k hit? Mine is on default turbo and self clocks to 4.6 to 4.8ghz out of box.
i've booted at 5.1ghz 1.4volts but i cant stress test or leave it that way my evo 212 just wont handle it.
this week i've been at 4.8ghz@1.3volts with everything else important set at auto.
my evo 212 does allright till cpu package powers hits 150 watts then it just loses it and temps skyrocket from there.
lucky for me the most cpu intensive game i have spikes up too 125 watts "fallout4"
im kinda in the same situation you are my case can only handle a 240 mm radiator so far its just not worth buying new case plus going water cooler

After about 90 minutes of Black Desert Online at 3440x1440 custom max settings.
Stop stressing?
And many ty again everybody!
So it makes sense that you'd see higher temps.
But 85c is fine. You can stop stressing.
Though, if you do want to remove all doubt :
- Or just lower it.
Not played with my voltage, Ill google it

After some BDO and Conan Unconquereed, temps have reached 94C on peak, but still currently at 60c. Nothing to worry about yet?
