Does anyone actually use MSI Dragon Center software?
Just got a new MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC/Ryzen 3600/Corsair V 3200 RAM and am wondering if anyone uses this? I installed it initially to sync the MB and my CM Hyper 212 RGB Black cooler (Aura Sync) as I cannot find a separate d/l for Mystic Light anywhere.

After reading what crap it supposedly is I uninstalled all of it but still have the last RGB program running that I had picked (which I don't want on). I tried deleting all the registry entries but it won't let me. I was thinking of just reinstalling the software, but is it as bad as posted?

Dragon center isn't so bad but it's not good either as it doesn't always work in a "perfect manner"

Msi's website has troubles too, download links not working or missing,
but if you still like to try out Mystic Light, i've found a link.
It may be not the latest version but most likely you'll be able to update after installing the software

Not a fan of MSI dragon center. Downloaded it once, changed my graphics cards RGB to match the rest of my pc, then uninstalled.

Just do a clean Win10 64bit install without all that junk.

Then install all latest Windows Updates. Then go download and install all latest drivers; motherboard chipset, gpu, audio, lan, wifi, bt; etc.

For software use...
CPUZ
GPUZ
HWMONITOR
MSI Afterburner + RTSS
MSI Kombuster

Once and only once.

Mystic Light that supports RTX GPUs is available from Dragon Center only. After I changed my GPUs light from the Rainbow effect I have never used it since and no intention too.....unless I change colour scheme.

EDIT: If I remember right Dragon Center itself can be uninstalled without issues. But if you want to keep lighting set the way you have don't use control panel to uninstall MSI SDK. That'll revert Mystic light changes.

Can just leave it all installed and set not to run at start up.

You don't have to uninstall it, just get it out of the OS startup. Once you change colors this gets saved to the device rom

Yup, you don't have to. However if someone was did it's fine. Aslong as they don't uninstall the the MSI SDK. If they do that it'll revert back to factory defaults....least it does with their RTX GPU's.

Never heard of such a thing. When you change the colors for your fans, mouse, keyboard, cpu cooler, gpu... this gets saved to the device rom. Which is why all those colors are correct when you first power on your PC. You could then leave it alone once changed how you want, it does not rely on anything inside any OS to keep the colors. Just need a program to initially change them is all. But again once changed the program cam be uninstalled and never needed unless wanted to change it again. This is nothing new. We've had the ability to do this for approx a decade with various devices that have LEDs, such as my old Alienware keyboard for example. While my Logitech G500/G500S don't have customization for led colors, it does for the dpi, polling rate, sensitivity... all of that can be saved to the device so that should I plug into a different PC or wipe my own PC, or load up into a different OS that all of that is already there, per the device itself.

No. It's not. How about you listen to someone that owns the hardware and has actually complained to MSI about it???

After a shutdown my MSi RTX 2060 Super boots with the Rainbow effect, Factory settings, until it reaches Windows. If I merely restart my system in stays using what I set. But not when shutdown and not if I uninstall the MSI SDK.

I complained to MSI about that very thing saying it is expected to be able to store the changes on the GPU itself exactly the way you describe. However it doesn't work like that and that is why I made my point about it.

Yes possibly an issue with MSI cards then I guess.

I mainly use EVGA gpus and ASUS mobos and never had a problem. I can do a cold boot and enter the bios... and all my fans, ram, cooler, gpu are all displaying the colors I had set to them.

You both, Bad 💀 Motha and Monkey are actually right, depending on the firmware's software, some do code windows registries but Asus, I noticed a lot of issues I read about MSI and Gigabyte are not common with Asus but yes the RGB commands and codes are on both Windows registries and registered memory of the hardware itself. Although that being said, if the firmware isn't the same throughout hardwares, there is Bad's reasoning, Asus being compatible with a lots of hardwares, doesn't work well with others in the RGB department, therefore having the need of a RGB mating hub so all your things are synch no matter what as long as power is running actively through the board, and I mean literally on, it's hardware controlled then, in bios, the theme is on the RGB and never changes unless the user do so.

Now here's the software part, if they are all corsair's ICUE and specifically what I said, then same as above, but if you have a corsair case NOT ICUE but has RGB fans and such, and a Gigabyte Aorus card and corsair RGB memory that are ICUE, trust me my own experience, if you got no hub you got a MESS, until you get 5 softwares and a degree in musical timing as well as Bruce Lee's hand to eye coordination, you'll get nowhere from bios to next year's problems.

MSI and Gigabyte's firmware, seems a bit friendlier in that department of compatibility, but not without softwares tweeking, then at bios it's all like Mad Christmas, but then harmony shows up when Windows load up. So there you go, we didn't have to even argue about it, welcome to PC world where Apple users hates it because of all the trials and errors, they rather have a toy that goes from A to B without the ♥♥♥♥ around. But, and a BIG BUT, trials and errors means, it's opening a programmers point of view to enabling beyond what the specs are and there's always going to be a crash or some other craziness, but really? What did you do prior to creating this disaster, that really is the question now is it. And that's why we Love PCs so much! But really I can buy the same crap you do and somehow my PC will not do what yours do. Agree to disagree I swear All instances are actually living facts, so if your PC does whatever it doesn't matter you either gonna live with it or not. I've had problems that even with my experience, had to come to Google because I was flabbergasted by the hell I was looking at, it's fun challenging and reminds me of working on cars and troubleshooting, so next time you see someone asking something and you get the urge to either argue or else, how about you indulged them with your own personal effed up similar instances then they try all of them, most of the time one of those solutions is the one, then the forums pages are really filled with actual answers. I mean I do enjoy popcorn and sitting through some ppl's anger towards knowing better but it's getting annoying now snowflakes, how about some really cool nice conversing about ♥♥♥♥ and giggles, trust me, you wake up the next day and you really don't wanna kill anyone in traffic because keyboard warrior last night made your feelings feel. Anyways, good night, this Bourbon is awesome. Be Legends not problems.

I have used it along with Afterburner in the past, having a Z97 board. I had too many issues and decided to uninstall it in favor of things like the Intel Performance Tuning, etc.
