I'm running a 9900K and a EVGA 2080 super. I don't know how much of a difference my CPU makes, but I can run the two games I'm into right now (DOOM Eternal and Elite Dangerous) at 2560x1440, 165hz, maxed settings at at least 165FPS. BTW, as long as you buy a good card there's no such thing as "overkill" in gaming, unless you're really hot for a next gen feature.
Not sure what you mean. Intel 10th gen already requires new Motherboard; i.e. Z490
They'd be killing their own industry if they did that. The reason many newer gpus don't work on very old boards like lga 775 and ones of similar age has to do with many factors, mainly something to do with the bios, possibly something with uefi also. But since motherboards generally would never get a bios update after its warranty support period ends, they are left in the land of legacy devices. For example gtx gpus before the 7xx series are not uefi compliant.
You dont need a Rtx 2080 super
if you do not have atleast a I9 9900k unlocked cpu 5ghz and 4 ghz ram, a ssd that runs 3200 mb/s R/w to support it with ...
Rtx 2080 super is for 4k at around 144+ fps/hz ..
But you need a whole pc buildup to support it ---
2070 super is more than enough for 1080 resolution .. you can run CS:GO above 400 fps with it with all settings to max x16 .. that more than any screen can support it .. yet
you need a 500+hz screen to support 500+ fps without inputlag or other latency issues ..
False. 2080 super is not for 4k 144hz. It cannot even maintain 144fps at 1440p. It's quite ideal for 1080p ~144hz. And if you turn on raytracing you probably wont get 144fps either...
A bit, in some games. It's not so much a whine, but more like a hiss. Not very annoying for me, and almost inaudible when wearing headphones, even when muted.
I got EVGA2080 Super FTW3 Ultra Gaming if that matters.
That's why buy my GPUs from Amazon, B&H, MicroCenter. As I could easily return a GPU to them for simply not liking it.
