Could my setup work for bitcoin mining?
My setup was originally made for gaming so i dont expect it to be very good for bitcoin mining, but im curious because i cant seem to find any sites that have my specs listed.

I have an i7-4790k and a GTX 980Ti(if it matters my psu is 80+ gold 1000w)

Over like a week or so could i get a decent amount or is it not even worth my time?

If you want to go for that kind of mining usually amd cards are much better as they are configured for it.

Also you don't go for bitcoin mining anymore but Ethereum / ZEC mining.

Finally this is not a fast cash option as unless you have multiple gpu's running on one motherboard and have a few racks of those you are looking at less than a dollar with only one 980ti a day and that's before you figure electric cost.

oh im very new to all of this my bad. But is it even worth doing it with just the specs i already have? Or even with a 4k gaming rig its not even worth my time? I dont wanna be wasting 2 weeks of mining 24/7 to only make a dollar or less, you feel?
You electricity bill would be much higher than the income of that machine.
If you want to mine for bitcoin, buy a ASIC.

Well the electricity bill isnt really that important because i am not the one paying for it lol. But even without the bill, would i only be making a super tiny amount?

If your parents smash your door because the powerbill increased by 400$ then it is your problem.

Anyway you would get an income of around 1-15$ per month depending on how and how long you mine.

wow thats some gr8 profit. nah i wont bother then. thank you
$1-$15 / month is way to optimistic. GPU + CPU running at max load together 24x7 all year around would provide a hashrate of 200 MHash/s which currently generates 5 cent per month. If you really wanna make any profit you should go for ASIC miners like Antminer S9 (14 THash/s) one of those cost around $2100 to buy and gives a daily income of $9.56 at todays price and diffuculty.

hmm that would take a while for it to pay itself off
At this late stage, a setup for profitable bitcoin mining involves a time machine.
